Nium and Remessa partnership breaks down payment-borders for Brazilian businesses and consumers
In recent years, Remessa has established itself as one of the leading cross-border and remittance payment providers in Brazil, helping local businesses and individuals send their money around the globe. The company’s founding mission was to remove the bureaucracy that has long been an issue in Brazil’s highly regulated foreign exchange market, while offering competitive rates. Today, Remessa is able to offer cross-border payments for up to 8x cheaper than domestic banks with payments arriving in as little as 15 minutes.
Much of this success has been powered by Remessa’s partnership with Nium, that aims to up-level its already impressive payment options. “Our partnership with Nium enables us to expand globally, allowing us to offer even more solutions in new corridors,” says Marcio WIlliam, Remessa’s co-founder. “The partnership offered us the possibility of having a better tracking of our operations and also being able to make payments faster.”
While Brazil’s domestic payments network PIX is widely considered the gold-standard in real-time payments, cross-border payments – and B2B in particular– have traditionally been far slower. As well as sometimes taking over a week, they are often not transparent or traceable by either of the business parties.
With the support of Nium, Remessa is making sure that will soon be a thing of the past.
