Cadana is a global workforce payments and compliance infrastructure provider, purpose-built for payroll platforms and the companies that depend on them. Cadana's platform combines a global payouts network, spanning locally licensed partners, direct mobile wallet integrations with a statutory filing and remittance module covering 90+ countries. Cadana enables payroll providers to deliver compliant, seamless workforce financial services anywhere in the world.
Cadana believes talent is distributed evenly around the world. The infrastructure to pay that talent is not.
As the company expanded past its first markets, its original approach to cross-border payouts — manual Swift wires and a handful of local providers — stopped keeping up with the platform it was building.
Since partnering with Nium in 2022, Cadana has opened new corridors, grown payout volumes close to tenfold, and held settlement success rates above 95%.
The challenge
Cadana’s customers want to hire wherever the right person happens to be. Every new market means finding a reliable way to get earnings into that worker’s hands, on time.
Early on, many of those payments were individual Swift wires layered on top of a few local providers.
“The way we paid people worked, but it was completely unscalable,” said Fred Gyekye Ofosu, Product Operations Manager at Cadana. “Looking at what we had then and now, we couldn’t still be doing what we were doing then today.”
Cadana needed broader reach, faster settlement, and a partner that moved quickly when an issue held up somebody’s salary.
The solution
Cadana integrated with Nium’s payout APIs once, at a wholesale level. Instead of building a new integration every time a customer needs a new country, Cadana enables the corridor through the connection it already has.
“If we need to turn on a country today, it’s about enabling that country rather than going through a whole new engineering or API project,” said Ofosu.
Nium’s reach also takes Cadana well past the major markets. “A client might ask us to pay someone in Belize or New Zealand — not just the markets everyone supports. Nium has coverage in those long-tail countries too.”
The results
Payout volumes have grown close to tenfold since the partnership began. Settlement success rates through Nium have stayed above 95% throughout.
That reliability changes what Cadana can promise. “We can confidently tell our users they’ll get these funds within a certain number of hours or days — and it’s delivered,” said Ofosu.
Expansion got easier, too. When an issue with another provider created an urgent need for a new corridor, Cadana’s team had it live in hours, not weeks.
“You have this ability to grow or scale and still maintain the reliability that comes with it. A lot of the time that is underrated.”
What's next
Cadana is going deeper into LATAM and Asia, where volumes have already grown three to fourfold, and exploring stablecoin settlement to speed up funding and treasury flows.
The longer-term goal is simpler: customers should be able to hire wherever they find the right talent, without ever asking whether they can pay them.
“Our clients should be able to hire anywhere. Payment should never be the issue.”
